It is hard to imagine life in the 21st century without electricity. Electricity provides lighting and heating, and it powers appliances and industrial machinery. In many countries, electricity was traditionally dominated by single national utilities – vertically integrated monopolies. In recent years, a process of liberalization has introduced competition across many industry sectors (such as generation and distribution). Electricity is now traded as a commodity, and there is even a limited amount of international trade.
This 90 minutes session is delivered at the NMADP course in each respective Area. Participants must be invited to attend the NMADP and select Power and Utilities as their sector specialisation. The content in this course will be provided by sector subject matter experts. This course will help the learner to understand current trends in the P&U sector, be able to identify and discusses the kdisruptive drivers of the sector, and understand EY's point of view on what the future of the P&U sector will look like.
